About The Jr Spartan Scholarship Fund

The goal of the Jr Spartan Football & Cheer organization is simple: to teach football & cheerleading in a safe environment while creating a love for the sport. We are a competitive & fun program for all participants.  We truly feel we are coaching more than just the fundamentals by teaching life lessons that prepare our young athletes for success both on and off the field.

Each year, our board allocates scholarship dollars in our budget to recognize exceptional graduating GBN football players and cheerleaders.  Although the foundation of this award is participation on the field, the final determination will be made based on impact off the field.  This scholarship is intended to recognize individuals who benefited significantly from the Jr Spartan program and have continued to give back to both the program and the broader Northbrook community.

How are the scholarship winners determined?

A committee of three Jr Spartan Football & Cheer board members is appointed every year to review all applicants, validate their eligibility, and make a determination as to which applications meet our standard.  The Jr Spartan board will vote on the final slate.
