Jr Spartan Parents

We are very excited with the registration numbers so far for this fall for Jr Spartan Football & Cheer.  We have over 250 athletes registered thus far and anticipate this number growing before the season starts.  Based on this, we have added a few summer events to get everyone ready for the fall season!  The costs of these events are covered by the Jr Spartan program and free to all Northbrook athletes.

We have included a sign-up form below (there is one tab for each event, please sign up for as many as your athlete can attend) to get a ballpark headcount so we know we have enough athletes to conduct the event - please click the links and let us know your plan to attend!  Feel free to sign up a friend who you think might be interested as well!

Football Combine

Start off summer right with an assessment of key speed attributes under the watchful eye of the experts from TCBoost!  Our athletes will be measured on their 40-yard dash (overall speed), Shuttle run (lateral quickness and explosion), 3-cone drill (ability to change directions at high speed), and Vertical & Broad jumps (lower body explosion and power).  They will get a record of their measurables so they can track their progress in a true testament of me-today versus me-tomorrow.

Our combine will be June 26 at the GBN Stadium.  Show up anytime between 400p and 600p.

Mini-Camps

Whether your athlete is signed up for tackle or flag, these mini-camps are a great opportunity to work on the fundamentals of football.  We will work in stations rotating every 10-15 minutes and learning fundamentals of speed, skills positions, and tackling and blocking.  We want every Jr Spartan to attend and bring a friend who might be interested in playing this fall!

Our Mini-Camps will be July 9th, July 23rd and July 24th at the GBN Stadium.  We will start at 400p and conclude at 600p .

Please note -- these events are open to any Northbrook athlete!  Please feel free to bring a friend, even if they are not signed up for the fall.

4th of July Parade

We invite ALL of our registered athletes to join us to celebrate the birth of our nation's independence by marching in the 4th of July parade!  We are still finalizing our plans but want to show our patriotism and appreciation alongside the GBN HS football players - marching as One Northbrook Football Family.  We will need some parent volunteers to walk in the parade.  Commemorative t-shirts will be available on a first come-first serve basis.

****Please let us know of your intent to attend here --> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1o3vxnWQIHVoGUNtIAIvfcyacu1OetbxBoUqm5pQPC-M/edit#gid=0 ****

(Note there are multiple tabs -- one for each event)

Tackle Jamboree

Tackle practices start August 1st and our first weekend of games start August 27th.  In order to help us evaluate our progress, we are planning to host a jamboree on August 20-21 at GBN.  Glenview, Lake Forest and New Trier will bring their teams to our stadium to scrimmage against our athletes and give our coaches the opportunity to coach-up the players and finalize gameplans for the start of the season.  More to come as we approach the start of the season.

GBN Football Camp

All registered Jr Spartans are invited to attend the GBN football camp from July 11-15.

Learn about the GBN football system! The GBN football staff will offer instruction to help players prepare for the upcoming football season. Football safety, fundamentals, skills and tactics will be taught. Open to 3rd through 8th grade players who are currently registered to play Northbrook Junior Spartan Football.  This camp will meet at the GBN football fields. This will be a non-padded camp.
