The GBN Jr Spartan Football & Cheer program is a community-based organization committed to fostering teamwork, discipline, and excellence in young athletes. We aim to provide a supportive and competitive environment where young individuals can learn, grow, and excel in cheerleading while also developing important life skills such as leadership, commitment, and teamwork.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Youth Cheerleading Coach to lead, develop, and inspire our cheer team for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cheerleading, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with youth. You will be responsible for planning and conducting practice sessions, choreographing routines, ensuring the safety of all participants, and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. Our primary season runs from August through November, with additional clinics in winter and spring.
Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality cheerleading practice sessions.
Choreograph routines that are progressively more complex, ensuring they are appropriate for the age and skill level of the team.
Teach cheerleading techniques, stunts, and routines while emphasizing safety and teamwork.
Monitor the performance of team members, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Coordinate with the Director of Cheer for team communications and scheduling.
Collaborate with the GBN Cheer Coach to Incorporate GBN HS Cheerleaders to assist with practices and games.
Maintain clear communication with athletes, parents, and program administrators.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and serve as a role model for young athletes.
Ensure that we have teams and cheer routines for football playoff games.
Ensure the Cheer program is well represented at all program events, such as Jr Spartan Night.
Inspire a new generation of girls to participate in cheerleading and encourage their growth year after year!
Previous experience as a cheer coach or extensive background in cheerleading.
Strong understanding of cheerleading techniques, and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to relate to, motivate, and inspire young athletes.
Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
CPR and First Aid certification required (program will provide).
Must pass a background check.
